This is what happens when your neighbor is a famous artist and asks if you will help him in his latest artistic endeavor.  Donnie Molls is an established artist and has a lot close to us in Ponderosa.  Donnie lives in Hollywood with his wife Teri and son Lucas.  He asked us if we would dress up in costumes and he was going to take movies of us and still shots in the snow coming and going out of Redwood trees and then if the weather (and it did) cooperated he wanted to shoot in a snow storm.  His exhibit is at the Pacific Design Center in Hollywood and will me there from March 26th until May.  The idea is that he will show a normal family walking inside a redwood tree and then his cousin Mike, Boz and Ann will come out the other side but we are now creatures in the snow.   I will add some pictures soon of the art show itself, we will be attending the opening on March 26th and will take pictures of his art that he created.  You look inside the trees and see the movie of us.  Should be quite entertaining.

Donnie - The artist - Can you tell he was once a model?  Strike a pose......

A couple of weeks before the shooting of the movie and pictures, Donnie and his cousin came up to scout out possible places to take pictures.  The only way to get to them was by snowmobile, since we had about 5 to 6 feet of snow on the ground.  So off they went....

These are our masks, Donnie made them along with dyeing the costumes.

Ann gets into her costume and characterMike and AnnDonnie fixes Bozs mask and then he gets into character.  The dogs took us in stride....

Mike in the pink, Boz in the purple and Ann in the blue.  Thank goodness the costumes were large so we could wear very warm clothing underneath.  This was our 1st site.  We looked pretty funny riding the snowmobiles in our outfits minus the masks, we could hardly see out of those things.  While we were shooting, 2 forest service guys went by on snowmobiles, they didn't say a thing but I wonder what they were thinking?????

The next day it was snowing like crazy just what the artist ordered.  Notice Johns (Boz) mask, it is black but as the day progressed it was becoming white.  The last 3 pictures we were done and got a little silly.

More pictures to come from the show after March 26th, 2011. ........
